About
The FBomb.org is a blog/community created by and for teen and college-aged individuals who care about their rights and want to be heard.
Name
In this case the “FBomb” stands for “feminist.” However, it also pokes fun at the idea that the term “feminist” is so stigmatized — it is our way of proudly reclaiming the word. The fact that the “FBomb” usually refers to a certain swear word in popular culture is also not coincidental. The FBomb.org is loud, proud, sarcastic and passionate: everything young feminists are today.
Founder and Editor
Julie Zeilinger is originally from Pepper Pike, Ohio, and graduated from Barnard College in 2015. Julie has been named one of Newsweek’s “150 Women Who Shake The World”, one of the “Jezebel 25,” one of the “Eight most influential bloggers under 21” by Women’s Day Magazine, one of More Magazine’s “New Feminists You Need To Know,” one of the London Times‘ “40 Bloggers Who Really Count.” She is currently the Editor of MTV Founders and her writing has been published on MTV, Mic, the Huffington Post, Forbes, and CNN among other publications. She is also the author of A Little F’d Up: Why Feminism Is Not A Dirty Word (Seal Press, 2012) and College 101: A Girl’s Guide to Freshman Year. Follow her on twitter (@juliezeilinger) and for more information visit www.juliezeilinger.com.
The Women’s Media Center
In 2014, the FBomb partnered with the Women’s Media Center. Founded in 2005 by Jane Fonda, Robin Morgan and Gloria Steinem, the WMC’s goal is to make women visible and powerful in the media and works with media to ensure that women’s realities are covered and women’s voices are heard. The WMC is directly engaged with the media at every level to work toward a diverse group of women being present in newsrooms, on air, in print and online, in film, entertainment, and theater – as sources and subjects, in bylines and credits, in the field and in the front office.

Comments Policy
While the Fbomb highly encourages comments, we reserve the right to remove any comments that are hateful, threatening towards others or that are disparaging and/or nonconstructively anti-feminist. There is room for disagreement, certainly, but this blog is meant to be a safe space for young feminists. Honestly, I’m not in the business of censorship, just keep it respectful, people.
